Ticket waiting lists closed

Mon 31 May 2010 - 12:05

Rock Werchter is completely sold out. This also means that waiting lists for festival tickets are closed as well. Tickets that become available will be assigned to new buyers according to the first come, first served principle. This means that those people who have not received a message from ticketing yet, are not eligible for a ticket. Sad but true. Presale of campsite tickets has come to an end as well, as it is linked to the sale of festival tickets. People who want to stay at one of our many festival campsites, can still buy a campsite ticket during Rock Werchter, at the entrance of the campsite.

Not unimportant either: as always during the festival weekend, an exchange desk will be set up. So people are able to sell and buy tickets legally through the organisers' intermediary service. Furthermore, we like to point out that it is possibly dangerous to buy tickets on the secundary market. The website www.ilovemyticket.be shows you the way and gives some good advice.

Concert tickets are sent out later

Thu 17 December 2009 - 11:12

To tackle the resale of tickets at exorbitant prices, concert organiser Live Nation, ticket seller Tele Ticket Service and the Belgian Ministry of Economy decided, on the basis of their gentlemen’s agreement, not to immediately send out your concert tickets.

All suspicious (online) transactions will be reported to the Belgian Ministry of Economy. The federal government has committed itself to actively assisting in the checking and tracking of illegal sales, so as to protect concertgoers against fraud and swindle.

Strict security control at the entrance of the King Baudoin Stadium
Holders of suspicious tickets that were sold on to make a profit, will need to identify themselves at the entrance of the King Baudoin Stadium. Concertgoers who cannot immediately be linked to the person originally ordering the ticket will, on the basis of the gentlemen’s agreement and the general conditions of sale, be denied entry.

Concert tickets are sent out later
To allow for prior checks and to map the illegal sales, the U2 concert tickets will be sent out at a later date. Barring exceptional circumstances, the tickets will probably be sent out before the summer holidays.

Important notice if you are in the process of moving or are about to move house
If you have moved house after buying your tickets, or if you are planning to move before the summer of next year, do not forget to inform Tele Ticket Service of your new postal address. As your reservation is still active, you cannot adjust your address details online. This measure has been taken to prevent illegal resellers from buying tickets en masse via third parties, to then have them sent to the same address.

Use the contact form to change your address.

Legal initiative to curb illegal reselling
Belgian politicians are also convinced that the illegal resale of tickets at exorbitant prices needs to be curbed more strictly. MPs Willem-Frederik Schiltz (Open Vld), Sofie Staelraeve (Open Vld), Dalila Douifi (sp.a), Liesbeth Van der Auwera (CD&V) and Jef Vandenbergh (CD&V) are writing up a bill to tackle this issue. They have stated that the price of resold tickets should not be more than 10% higher than the officially mentioned sale price. Offering up tickets for sale before official ticket sales have started should be illegal.

Because you love your ticket...
The website www.ilovemyticket.be (only available in dutch and french) provides more information about how to tackle the illegal resale of tickets. The website also provides a list of blacklisted mala fide online sales points.

If you fall victim to resellers, please let us know. This way, we can inform other music lovers and spare a lot of people a great deal of suffering.

Kind regards,
