Saturday April 24, Night of the Proms blows the roof of the RTL Spiroudôme in Charleroi with a prestigious programme. Sharleen Spiteri, the lead singer of Texas, and Kim Wilde are announced for the 7th edition of Night of the Proms in the French speaking part of Belgium. They will perform their greatest hits under the accompaniment of the symphonic orchestra Il Novecento led by Robert Groslot.
Sharleen Spiteri and her band Texas made a spectacular debut with the song "I Don’t Want A Lover". With a mix of electropop and hiphop Texas scored hits such as “Say What You Want", "Black Eyed Boy", "Put Your Arms Around Me", "Summer Son" and "Inner Smile". Sharleen Spiteri was a guest at Night of the Proms in Antwerp in 2006.
Kim Wilde is an icon of British pop music from the eighties. She made her debut in 1981 with the new wave classic "Kids In America". In 1987 she was in the American charts with her version of the song "You Keep Me Hangin 'On", originally by The Supremes. Other hits from her are "Cambodia", "Checkered Love" and "You Came". Together with the German singer Nena she scored the hit "Anyplace, Anywhere, Anytime". In 2007, Kim Wilde toured with Night of the Proms in Germany.
On April 24 the Night of the Proms-fans in the French speaking part of Belgium will be able to enjoy the music from Sharleen Spiteri and Kim Wilde.
