Saturday April 24, Night of the Proms blows the roof of the RTL Spiroudôme in Charleroi with a prestigious programme. Sharleen Spiteri, the lead singer of Texas, Kim Wilde, Laurent Voulzy and DIV4S are announced for the 7th edition of Night of the Proms in the French speaking part of Belgium. They will perform their greatest hits under the accompaniment of the symphonic orchestra Il Novecento led by Robert Groslot and Fine Fleur.
Sharleen Spiteri and her band Texas made a spectacular debut with the song “I Don’t Want A Lover”. With a mix of electropop and hiphop Texas scored hits such as “Say What You Want”, “Black Eyed Boy”, “Put Your Arms Around Me”, “Summer Son” and “Inner Smile”. Sharleen Spiteri was a guest at Night of the Proms in Antwerp in 2006.
Kim Wilde is an icon of British pop music from the eighties. She made her debut in 1981 with the new wave classic “Kids In America”. In 1987 she was in the American charts with her version of the song “You Keep Me Hangin ‘On”, originally by The Supremes. Other hits from her are “Cambodia”, “Checkered Love” and “You Came”. Together with the German singer Nena she scored the hit “Anyplace, Anywhere, Anytime”. In 2007, Kim Wilde toured with Night of the Proms in Germany.
French singer Laurent Voulzy had to wait 25 years but his patience has been rewarded: he’s finally going to spend ‘the night with Kim Wilde’, English singer to whom he dedicated his song in 1985 ‘Les nuits sans Kim Wilde’. Music lovers can attend this unique encounter on Saturday, April 24 in the RTL Spiroudôme at Charleroi.
DIV4S is an ensemble of four sopranos performing evergreen hits, Italian classics and international famous songs performed with operatic voice and orchestra suggestions, with the contamination of pop sounds and rhythms. Desireè, Isabella, Vittoria and Sofia all young and full of enthusiasm will also perform at Night of the Proms in Charleroi.
